Our First Shanti Bhavan Intern!

Supriya is our first-ever Shanti Bhavan student to be accepted for the BAE Arts Camp intership. We are so proud of all of her hard work over the past two weeks. Read Supriya’s reflection below.

As a young child, I sat cross-legged on the red floor, listening in awe as my seniors sing in the choir. Even then, I knew I wanted to stand where they stood. But what truly captured my attention was the team behind it all— bringing smiles to every face and harmony to every voice. At that moment, I realized I didn’t just want to sing. I wanted to join the BAE team.

This summer, I was given that opportunity, the chance to work with BAE as a summer intern. Through this internship, that hope became a reality. I was able to contribute professionally while working with the very people who had helped shape my growth as a student. Through administrative and operational responsibilities, I supported communication efforts, helped coordinate schedules, assisted with event preparation, managed important tasks behind the scenes, and contributed to the day-to-day needs of the program.

These responsibilities taught me how much planning, organization, teamwork, and attention to detail are required to make programs and events successful. This new role helped me grow from a student into a young professional. I became more confident in my communication, strengthened my problem-solving and organizational skills, and learned how to manage multiple priorities with responsibility and professionalism.

What made this experience especially meaningful was the mentorship, trust, and encouragement I received throughout the summer. Every task, conversation, and challenge helped me grow both personally and professionally. I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of BAE in this new way and for the lessons, confidence, and skills I will carry with me into the future.
