A Year of Music, Growth, and Togetherness

Reflections from Elwin – The Music Fellow 

This year has been nothing short of a beautiful journey — a journey filled with music,  learning, creativity, joy, and meaningful relationships. What started as a few simple moments  of singing together and exploring rhythm slowly transformed into something much greater  than we imagined: a growing family connected through the power of music. 

Every practice session, every lesson, every smile, and every tiny step forward became part of  a larger story — a story worth celebrating. 

Music has always been more than just sound. Over the past year, we witnessed how music  can shape confidence, encourage expression, and bring people together in extraordinary  ways. Watching children slowly discover their voices, develop courage, and embrace creativity has been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey. 

For many of the children, music became a safe space — a place where they could freely  express joy, excitement, emotion, and individuality. Whether through singing, playing  instruments, movement, or simply participating in group sessions, every child brought  something unique and valuable into the room. 

One of the most encouraging parts of this year was seeing children step into opportunities  with enthusiasm and confidence. Instrumental sessions became moments of discovery and  growth. Music classes were filled with curiosity, laughter, and learning. Students learned not  only melodies and rhythms, but also patience, discipline, teamwork, and commitment. 

Special moments like watching Thamu, Shiya, and Ravi Priya enjoy playing for the Bhavan  Brunch reminded us how music can create confidence and purpose in young musicians. It  was wonderful to see them participate wholeheartedly and experience the joy of performing  in front of others. 

The Choir kids, too, have had an incredible year. From learning sessions filled with  excitement and dedication to performing for visitors with confidence and joy, they have  grown tremendously. Every rehearsal became an opportunity not just to improve musically,  but also to build friendships, encourage one another, and work together as a team. Of course, the journey was not always perfect — and that is what made it meaningful. 

There were moments of laughter that filled the room with energy and happiness. There were  moments that required discipline, patience, and perseverance. And most importantly, there  were moments of growth — quiet moments where progress slowly unfolded in ways that  words often cannot fully describe.

The kids were extremely excited when they received the new Digital Pianos, Electronic Drum  Kit & Acoustic Drum Kit. Through all these experiences, one truth became very clear: music  has the power to unite people across ages, personalities, and backgrounds. It creates  connection where words sometimes fail. It builds community. It brings hearts together. 

This year was filled with unforgettable memories — group practices, performances,  celebrations, workshops, learning sessions, and countless hours spent growing together.  Every event, every rehearsal, and every interaction added another meaningful chapter to this  journey. 

Behind every successful moment were people who gave their time, support, encouragement,  and love. This journey would not have been possible without the support of Mr. Ben, Ms.  Brittany, BAE Staff, volunteers who served faithfully, supportive families who encouraged  their children consistently, mentors who guided patiently, and children who participated  wholeheartedly with excitement and willingness to learn. 

To every parent, teacher, volunteer, mentor, and supporter — thank you. Thank you for  believing in this vision and for walking alongside us throughout the year. Your  encouragement and trust have helped create an environment where children can learn, grow,  and flourish through music. 

As we pause and reflect on this year, our hearts are filled with gratitude for how far we have  come together. Every challenge helped us grow stronger. Every success reminded us why this  journey matters. 

And as we look ahead, we are filled with excitement and hope for everything that is still to  come. 

Because this is more than an annual report. 

This is a celebration of growth. 
A celebration of community. 
A celebration of creativity and learning. 
And above all, a celebration of music and the lives it continues to impact. Thank you for being part of this incredible journey.
