Critical Pedagogy in India
At Shanti Bhavan, we’ve seen students discover through drumming, dancing, and singing that they can truly be themselves. They can be joyful, bold, and free. Surrounded by a community that encourages growth and acceptance, our students remind us why this work matters: the arts help them find their voice, and carry it with them far beyond the classroom. Recently, gradutates and gap-year students Arasu and Elsa, reflected on the different styles of teaching they’ve experienced with BAE. We are excited to see them start to think critically not just about what they are tuaght, but about how they are taught. We wish Elsa and Arasu all the best as they heads to Princeton and Dartmouth respectively in the Fall (Class of 2030).
