IMPACT REFLECTION

Broadway for Arts Education explored a new type of community partnership model with the Cornelia Connelly Center (CCC) in 2025: bringing together the fundraising power of the Broadway community with the production skills of our teaching artists and an incredibly strong school community. In January, Broadway cast members from Wicked led a workshop for 60+ young performers who successfully fundraised to bring BAE into their school community for a 2-week theater tech intensive culminating in 4 shows of The Wiz! The production was housed in an empty Off-Broadway theater connected to the school. Working alongside school staff, BAE helped restore the lighting and sound systems and train graduates of the program on how to design and manage the technical elements of theater.

In addition to the Wicked Workshop, tech camp, and subsequent performances of the Wiz, CCC was also able to join the extended BAE family for some of our signature events including the Lincoln Center Art Share and field trips to see SUFFS and BOOP! on Broadway.
